The passing of the wonderful Irish poet John Montague is of great sadness. We send our deepest sympathy to his family and relatives.
Penguin Random House Ireland is today launching its partnership with Fighting Words to help thousands of young people discover and reach their creative potential regardless of their background.
The relationship with Fighting Words builds on a wider long-term partnership between Penguin Random House UK and Ministry of Stories, a London-based charity founded on the same principles as Fighting Words and part of a global network of creative writing and mentoring centres.

Fighting Words – the creative writing centre in Dublin– is seeking an intern!
Fighting Words offers free story-writing workshops for primary school students in the mornings, creative writing workshops for secondary students in the afternoons as well as workshops covering all aspects of writing in the evenings, at weekends and during the school holidays. All tutoring is provided by trained and vetted volunteer mentors.
Interns assist Fighting Words staff with all aspects of programme and project management. Interns are also responsible for regular administration tasks and also assist in event planning. We offer the opportunity to work with primary and secondary school age students in a supportive and fun environment, as well as the chance to get involved in the running of a small NGO.

Can you imagine Dublin in the future? Would you like to write about it? Fighting Words is one of the partners in the project DUBLIN IN THE COMING TIMES, running throughout 2016.
In his 1893 collection, “The Rose”, W B Yeats included a poem with the title “To Ireland in the Coming Times."
Glenn Patterson helps celebrate Crosswords – a cross-community, cross-border creative writing project by Fighting Words Belfast and Fighting Words Dublin in North Belfast.
On Friday 3rd June children from Belfast and Dublin gathered at the Girdwood Community Hub with acclaimed author Glenn Patterson to launch an exciting new publication produced collaboratively with five schools participating in the Crosswords project.
