The animated film The Story will be revealed in the Movie was awarded an Honourable Mention at the Dublin Animation Awards recently held in the Pavilion Theatre, Dun Laoghaire.
He joined aspiring young poets and writers for a masterclass at Dublin's Fighting Words. He is in Dublin for the Lingo Festival
Fighting Words is very excited to have been chosen as one of the charity recipients of a limited number of tickets to the premiere of Brooklyn, the film adaptation of Colm Tóibín's novel, starring Saoirse Ronan and Domhnall Gleeson.
The red carpet premiere takes place on Thursday, October 22nd at the Savoy Cinema in O'Connell Street, Dublin 1 at 7pm.
Tickets to the premiere are €25.00 each. All proceeds will benefit Fighting Words' free creative writing programmes for children and young people.
Congratulations to the writers who took part in a Reading this week, in the beautiful setting of the Chapel Royale, Dublin Castle. The group worked with Caoimhe Creed over the past four months and presented a selection of fiction, non-fiction and song. It was a fantastic evening!
A screening was held in Bow Street on Friday 3rd July 2015 of seven shorts films scripted by writers from Fighting Words. The group met with the teenage actors and directors in Bow Street and wrote short scenes for the cast, which were then filmed and edited. Congratulations to all who took part in this great collaboration!
The Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield hosted a screening of the short animation film 'The Story shall be revealed in the Movie" on Saturday, 6th June 2015. This film was made by children at Fighting Words with our friends from Brown Bag Films. It was brilliant to see the final film on the big screen!
