WINNERS!

Fighting Words and Central Remedial Clinic (CRC) Clontarf and Clondalkin have enjoyed a fruitful relationship over the past year. 

In June 2019, we worked with the RT Drama Group from CRC Clontarf on the production of their play Phantasarie Deuxwhich was performed at the Players Theatre at Trinity College and at the Anam Festival at Dublin City University. 

FIGHTING WORDS CLOSURE /FIGHTING WORDS AG DÚNADH

With effect from 6pm on Thursday, 12 March:

All workshops and events are cancelled until 20 April to protect the health of all students, volunteers and staff.

This situation will remain under review. The closure may be extended in line with government advice with regard to the Covid-19 situation in Ireland.

The closure applies to ALL programmes that are scheduled to take place both at Fighting Words locations AND off-site locations.

GAA Museum and Fighting Words Need You for a New Project

As part of the GAA Museum’s programme of events to remember the tragic events of Bloody Sunday in Croke Park on November 21st, 1920 we are teaming up with the GAA to launch a new community project. If you like telling stories or have an interest in local history, then this is for you!

We are looking for local senior residents who would be interested in attending free writing workshops focusing on local history and stories.

Writing for Animation

'Writing for animation' was a four-month project in collaboration with animation students from Colaiste Dhulaigh. Over the course of three workshops, four young writers from Write Club created scripts for short animated films. These scripts were then taken on by teams of animation students from Colaiste Dhulaigh.

Fighting Words Connemara was formally launched on Friday, 17 January by Roddy Doyle at Ionad Cultúrtha an Phiarsagh in Ros Muc. 

Changing Tides at The Gate!

Congratulations to all the young playwrights of Changing Tides, a powerful new work produced in collaboration with Fighting Words, World Vision Ireland and the Gate Theatre with support from Irish Aid.

Bravo to Aisling Murphy, Aoibhe Hegarty, Craig Maguire, Éabha Ní Fhearail and Jonathan Breen for this play on ending violence against children. 

First Fortnight 2020 at Fighting Words

As part of First Fortnight, the annual festival that raises awareness about mental health, challenges prejudice and works to end stigma, Fighting Words is hosting a workshop for young writers aged 14 to 17 years on Saturday, January 18th!
