One morning Jimmy dreamed of being a hurler as he lay in his bed in Portumna. 

He had just moved from Ardfert to Portumna. 

He missed his friends in Ardfert and felt quite lonely.

The Adventures of Light-Slasher

Once upon a time there was a knight whose head was a light bulb. His name was Light-Slasher.

He tried to rob a bank before but Dragon Ninja showed up to stop him. 

Light-Slasher failed, but was able to escape. Now, Light-Slasher was in his secret lair.

Jimmy's Great Adventure

Once upon a time a village lady had a baby with octopus arms and legs.

The baby’s name was Jimmy and one day she lost him. 

As he was running he tripped and fell into a giant sausage sambo. 

Swingo and the Cheesy Popcorn

Swingo the dingo was looking for food in the outback of Australia. 

He was searching for cheesy popcorn for his friend John the cow.

Swingo knew he would have to fight a kangaroo to get the popcorn. He had a stick strapped to his back.

Granny Teta’s Great Adventures

Granny Teta was sitting in her old springy armchair thinking about the time Granny Murray broke the speed limit and flew off a cliff.

She imagined the time when they drove over the cliff and she remembered her best friend’s rainbow hair.

She was listening to diddley-aye music on her portable cd player.

The Snowman and the Runaway Carrot

Puddle the melting snowman was made by a lonely boy in his back garden during Christmas.

The boy had snatched a carrot from the Christmas dinner table and gave it to Puddle for a nose.  

Puddle decided to call the carrot ‘Luke’ and they became fast friends. Luke saved Puddle from his loneliness.

Luke had been bought at the Christmas market, where he had been parted from his brother Steve. 

Cuboid And His Amazing Adventures

Claddagh National School, Galway, 3rd Class, 23 November 2018

This is the story of a killer clown called Jamie who wants a robot dog.

Jamie goes to Robot Land in search of his dog. Nearby, a robot dog, Cuboid, is trying to play catch with his best friend Katie the sleepy cat. 

Katie is too sleepy to play with him. The King of Robot Land is out for a walk and Cuboid accidentally trips him over.

Deathwing’s Not-So-Epic Battle Against A Shoelace

Fighting Words at Dublin Art Book Fair, 24 November 2018

Deathwing the dragon was in the middle of a dragon battle. He was losing but he still had a chance to win as he was the biggest dragon.
Just then, Deathwing flew to the nearest pothole and barfed. Someone had stuffed a shoelace down his throat.

“Mooo..”
Deathwing was now awake. Emma his best friend the overweight cow had woken him up.

“Why are we here?” Kevin asked Barbara.

Barbara said, “Because your old friend Porky from the farmyard died here. We’re here for his funeral.”

There once was a pig called Gizmo, whose greatest wish was some pink underwear. 

He was on his way to the shop when he passed the butcher’s. 

Bob the Butcher came out with a knife.

Tony’s adventures

Once upon a time there was a flying cub lion with angel wings. He was called Tony.  

Tony had a best friend who was Joe, the flying piece of bacon.

One day, Tony went to Tesco’s to buy some bacon to feed to Joe.  

The Moustache Shaver

Once upon a time there was a man called Mr. Wiggle Moustache who lived in a cottage in the woods. 

He lived with his best friend Jeff the cool footballer.

He lived in a forest on top of a rainbow where there were pink fluffy unicorns dancing on it. 

Clyde’s Big Escape

Clyde the Kitten is in the street feeling lonely and wishing for a family. 

He sees someone eating a hot-dog so jumps up to get the hot-dog off him. 

The hot-dog turns out to be magical and it teleports Clyde to the Candy Kingdom.

Azure Jenkins and the Lost Stone

St Andrew’s NS, County Wicklow, 5th Class, 23rd November 2016

In a little cottage, in a really deep forest in Co. Wicklow, Alisia Crotchet came over and then she blew up the cottage. 

She blew up the house and then Paddy the Troll, from a different part of the forest, saw the smoke rising; he went over to see what had gone wrong. 

When he went over he saw a dead body lying on the floor. 

Half way there

As Dave left the room he realised he had to go to the shop because he had run out of peanuts. 

When he was in the shop he saw a magazine with the moon on it and thought it was pretty. 

He realised he forgot his wallet and he had to go back home.

“Oh, Oh! Spagetti-o,” said Jay as he got out of bed to go to school. Jay heard fire sirens. 

He peeked out the window and saw smoke coming from the direction of his school; his school was on fire! 

He looked over and immediately thought to himself that a villain called Black Skull was burning down the school.
