Twenty-three bright and enquiring minds travelled to DCU each Tuesday afternoon between January and March 2020 to explore the known and unknown universe through the lens of creative writing, resulting in this incredible collection of short stories.
From the foreword:
‘‘Science fiction questions. It wants to know.
And in doing so, it is less a means of predicting
our future than it is a lens through which
we examine our world and our lives as they are
now, slightly removed from reality, for the sake
of some clarity and objectivity. It is a genre that
imagines the discovery of an unknown virus in
our veins, a demonstration of our unavoidable
mortality, or the spacecraft we use to take us
into orbit, so that we can look back at, and appreciate,
the delicate beauty of our planet."
