Tree House Raider

Bennekerry National School, Bennekerry, Co. Carlow, 3rd Class, 14 June 2012
Crickles the skeleton was at home in his treehouse in the graveyard.  He was asleep in his coffin.

His skeleton puppy, Patch, woke him up by scratching at the coffin.

When Crickles opened the coffin lid, Patch took his pinky finger bone and ran off, playing.
“Come back here!” Crickles laughed and chased after Patch.  Crickles grew another pinky finger bone an hour later.

While they were playing, Crickles heard the creaking of the graveyard gate and he ran back to his treehouse with Patch in his arms.

Crickles saw four children from his treehouse – two girls and two boys.

“See, we are not too scared to come in here!” said one of the girls.

“I dare you to go up to that tree house,” said one of the boys.

“No, I have a better idea  -  let’s throw these potatoes at the tree house!” said the other boy.
One of the girls said, “Let’s light the potatoes on fire.”

So they put matches inside the potatoes, lit them and threw them at the treehouse.

Crickles came out, on fire, but not burning up!  He said “Leave the potatoes behind.”  The children ran away screaming.......
